LYM Cadre school in Copenhagen June 30-July 1, 2007 This cadre school turned out to be a real international gathering. On the first day, we were 23 persons from Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Indian, Nepal, Iraq, Palestine, USA, Sweden, Bahrain, Argentina, Botswana, Kosova and Denmark. Special guest speaker was Hussein Askary from Iraq. Saturday (June 30) started with a short introduction by Feride Istogu Gillesberg, and then followed a fascinating presentation by Tom about the great Dane Vitus Bering (1682-1741) and how he realized Leibiz's design for the development of Eurasia and America. Tom began with the just-agreed building of the Fehmer Belt bridge between Denmark and Germany, took a short view of the world financial and political situation, the prospects of a Bering Strait tunnel, and then turned to talk about being a historic individual as our Danish adventurer Bering certainly was. When Tsar Peter the Great (1672-1725) decided to develop and civilize his country of Russia, then advised by Leibniz, he ordered an expedition to map Siberia and find the way east to America. Bering was then recruited for his seamanship and leadership to head up first one expeidition to discover that Siberia was not connected eith America and the a second bigger expedition, that was to be the greatest expedition ever in the history of humanity, up to that point. Around 10,000 were involved as men, women and children traveled under Vitus Bering from Europe one third around the earth through Russia to the coast in the east, where the ships finally could be build and the expedition embarked on mapping and exploring the way to America and parts of the American coast. The presentation also showed the simularity and traditional historical alliance not only between Denmark and Russia, but most emphatically between Russia and the USA. Intensive discussion followed. After a tasty lunch, Hussein came up to the pitch and gave a revealing delivery of "The Great Game of the Brutish Empire." He began with tribute to our dear friend Mark Burdman, who passed away three years ago this month, and quoted him extensively on ugliness versus beauty, and how contrary to the popular belief that "America is the problem," demonstrated how the British rule through brutality. Hussein detailed specific of examples of British manipulations throughout the world, in Kashmir, Egypt, Sudan, Israel/Palestine, India, Afghanistan etc. and he went into the Sykes-Picot agreement, the Middle East situation today, and why Cheney is such a brutish agent. Cheney's words can lie, but his interests can't. The subsequent discussion was extremely fruitful and there was a true atmosphere that we are a movement for humanity. One new contact said, "I feel at home," and he said that it was as if he had known us for many years. After a delicious dinner, Danish LYM member Peter Møller, who's organizing in Boston, gave a strategic report about the political situation in Washington and the organizing and choral work of the LYM. The discussions afterwards continued over wine and cookies until 2 o'clock in the morning. The presentations and some of the discussions are available in mp3 format to the right. On Sunday, we turned to music and geometry, with a presentation by Feride Istogu Gillesberg and Benjamin Lylloff on the role of our music work and on Mozart's {Ave Verum Corpus} followed up by vocal training and working on Mozart's master piece {Ave Verum}. After a palatable lunch, Ali Sharaf and Janus Kramer led a solid geometry expedition with base camp in the {Timaeus} dialogue, and then traversing through the construction of the Platonic Solids, and into Kepler territory with the conception of the Platonic ordering of the planets and the proof of universal harmony. Over the weekend was also discussed travelling to Berlin and other parts of Europe to help the LYM organizing there and making plans for having a huge Danish delegation going to the European Schiller Institute conference in the middle of September. |
